Open Learning Ireland Meeting Minutes 14.01.13

Need to decide on venue ASAP
– very kind people at Dubzland have offered us a place
– potential problems
=> cleaning the place, no internet, heating
=> need to raise money – run a gig to finance

There’s also the possibility of the cultivate centre – should know in a day or so if that’s a goer

Possible gig structure
– music – by Andrew Edgar and friends
– comedy / spoken word Kenneth O’Regan / Andre Kapor

Ken – also interested in teaching a lecture in anecdotal form with cognitive psychological aspects – Confidence is preference in the habitual voyeur of what it known as Parklife…

Other possible lectures
– We’ve also had interest from member of the Men’s Shed movement (Frank -087 911 3755) to produce a video on learning math
– Simon Kenny – live coding / music workshop
– friend of Tom’s – Begging as a service industry
– friend of Ken – Japanese rope bondage

Ken – interested in running our social media

0) Nail down date

1) contact all groups / individuals who’ve expressed an interest in being involved / running classes etc
– folks in spreadsheet and mentioned in previous meeting minutes
– e.g.: Patrick King, NCAD TFE folks

2) Recruitment – volunteer ireland etc
– seek PR person, documentation person, volunteer organiser, audience registration folks etc
– college posters
– Fabian at NCAD, Willam etc!

3) Create Brochure / poster

4) Figure out documentation
– how much can we film? sound recording?
– recruit A/V team
– DCTV / Near

5) Media

6) Get Garda vetting forms to Dublin Volunteer Centre

7) Contact AIB, check what’s deal with bank account
